Pro se litigants with existing cases before this court may now register to become users of the court’s Electronic Case Filing (ECF) system and may file documents electronically without first obtaining a judge’s permission. Initial complaints and other case-opening documents must still be filed manually or by mail/private carrier. To learn more about the ECF system and to register for e-filing, see E-filing Self-Registration for Pro Se Litigants.
This change was made through General Order 72-3 (superseded by General Order 72-6), which suspended until further notice the requirement under Civil Local Rule 5-1(b) that a pro se party must request permission from the assigned judge to use the court’s Electronic Case Filing (ECF) system.
